Thomas F. Fitzpatrick

Thomas F. Fitzpatrick, 85, of Rolling Prairie, IN., formerly of the Kankakee Area and Chicago, passed away January 24th following a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Arleen Fitzpatrick; Children, Beth (Lou) Bednarek, Brian (Sandi), Bruce (Mary), Bob, Lilli (James Rung) Fitzpatrick, and Lisa (Paul) Chidichimo; Grandfather of 12, Great-Grandfather of 10; Loving brother of Anne Marie McKearn and brother-in-law of Mildred Fitzpatrick. He was proceeded in death by his son, William (Late Patricia) Fitzpatrick, and siblings Patrick “Joe” Fitzpatrick and Theresa Thompson. He was a member of St. John Kanty Knights of Columbus Council #14240 in Rolling Prairie and the Bishop McNamara 4th Degree Assembly #202 of Kankakee. He was a funeral director and former proprietor of Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors in Kankakee, former member and Grand-Knight of St. Viator Knights of Columbus Council #745, Past Commander of Kankakee American Legion Post #85, had been a Chief Deputy for the Kankakee County Coroners Office, a 4 term 2nd Ward Alderman for the City of Kankakee, and was a Police Commissioner in Bourbonnais. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 28th at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais from 3 – 8 P.M. A wake service will be led by Fr. Richard Pighini of Maternity B.V.M Church at 3:00 P.M., a Rosary Service will be at 7:30 P.M. followed by Military Honors at 8:00 P.M. A private funeral mass will be said at his home parish of St. John Kanty Catholic Church in Rolling Prairie, IN. Memorials to Good Shepherd Manor, P.O. Box 260, Momence, IL 60954 would be appreciated.
