Alvira E. Claypool-Nelson

Alvira E. Claypool-Nelson, 98, of Orland Park, formerly of Frankfort, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Beloved wife the late Harold Claypool (1980) and the late Byron Nelson (2008). Loving mother of James (Lauren) Claypool of Lake Zurich and Larry (Shelly) Claypool of Frankfort; Devoted grandmother of Thomas (Angie) Claypool of Vancouver, Canada, Cole Claypool and Cortney Claypool of Frankfort; Cherished Great-grandmother of Zephyr Claypool; Fond daughter of the late Harry and Margaret M. Strohmeyer, Sr.; Dear brother of the late Harry Strohmeyer, Jr. Alvira came to Frankfort in 1972 and lived there until 2008. Following the death of her second husband, Byron, she moved to Orland Park. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, but most of all cooking and baking for her family. She had been a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Frankfort. In keeping with her wishes, private cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the donors favorite charity in Alvira’s name would be appreciated.
