Carol N Arning

Carol Norma (Whitbeck) Arning, age 90 of Tinley Park, formerly of Centralia, passed away at home with her daughter beside her Saturday, June 30, one day before her 91st birthday. Born July 1, 1927 in Albion, NY, she also lived in Hawaii before returning to IL. A Daughter of the American Revolution. Preceded in death by her parents Everett Housel and Grace (Lindberg) Whitbeck. Formerly married to Ray L Arning, now deceased, she is the loving and devoted mother of Karlene (Karli) Grace, Ray L Arning Jr (wife Deborah), Dale W Arning, Neil W Arning (wife Linda). Proud grandmother of Christine Johnson, Brad Arning, Jeff Arning, Aaron Arning, Jennifer Arning and step-grandmother of Julie Geary, Mark Rishel, Amy Brown; great-grandmother of nine and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Loving sister of Everett Earl Whitbeck. A friend to all. Retired from the State of IL where she worked at Howe Developmental Center-Tinley Park Mental Health Center (and Murray Center, Centralia) as the Supervisor of Switchboard Operations. There will be an intimate family celebration memorial at a future date. Carol was a most loving, kind, caring, creative woman who loved the Cubs, bowling, swimming, working out, gardening, hummingbirds, watching geese and other wildlife and birds. She lived for her family and will be greatly missed by many and forever honored as a beautiful soul by those closest to her.
