Dianne Marie Cassidy - Jamieson

Dianne Marie Cassidy - Jamieson, 72, of Evanston passed into Gods arms on Monday, November 20th, 2017, at 3:27pm at Alden Estates of Evanston, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 1st 1945, in Peoria to John E. and Susan Casey Cassidy Sr., She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Jack and Tom Cassidy; three sisters, Colleen Pearl, Marilyn Costigan and most recently Susie Walsh. Dianne is survived by her devoted daughter, Maura (Michael) Fitzgerald of Evanston IL, her loving grandchildren Lily & Jack; twin brother Douglas (Kathleen) Cassidy of Lake Forest IL; brother Owen (Rebecca) Cassidy of Oak Park, IL; And another daughter Courtney (Mike) Dorning and their three children of Bethesda, Maryland. Dianne is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed fun and great joy. Dianne was the youngest of 9 children and twin to Doug. She grew up in Peoria, IL attending St. Philomena Catholic School, Richwoods High School and Barat College of Lake Forest, IL. During her Barat years She enjoyed many happy times visiting her brother at The University of Notre Dame and rooting for the Irish! She was a lifelong White Sox fan and took great joy in their 2005 World Series win! Some of her favorite times were vacations in Minocqua, WI with all her family. Dianne made her career in public relations working with many Chicago organizations and The Friends of The Parks, and she appeared on the Bozo Show in the late 1970’s as Woodsy the Owl to promote their “Give a hoot, don’t pollute!” campaign. She then moved onto American Hospital Supply and Baxter Healthcare in Marketing. She was a gifted writer and was deeply proud of her accomplishments professionally. After her retirement, Dianne welcomed the two greatest joys of her life. Her granddaughter Lily and her grandson Jack. Lily and Jack loved their Coco and had so much fun with her. She was a loving, exuberant and at times mischievous grandmother to the delight of her grandchildren. Dianne had a gift for knowing no strangers. She loved meeting new people, hearing their stories and connecting with them. She will be remembered for her feisty and fun nature, and her family and friends will miss her dearly. Though Dianne suffered many years of illness she always found a way to persevere and was beloved by those who cared for her. Her family is very grateful to the teams of Doctors, Nurses and Caregivers at North Shore Healthcare, Kellogg Cancer Center, Journey Care Hospice and Alden Estates of Evanston for their devoted care especially in the final days of her life. Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 2nd at Ss. Faith, Hope & Charity Church 191 Linden Street Winnetka, IL 60093 from 9:30am until 11:00 am, Followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorials can be made in Dianne’s Name to the North Shore Senior Center or to Journey Care Hospice.Family and friends are encouraged to sign the online guest book and leave a condolence message.
