Gloria Jean Blaha, born on June 22, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Palos Park, Illinois. She was a longtime secretary in the Eisenhower School District Offices, where she exemplified kindness and a desire to assist others. Gloria was a cherished mother to Deborah Calibraro of Cresthill, Illinois; Catherine Heller of Frankfort, Illinois; and Douglas Blaha (Amy) Wardsville, Missouri. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Amanda Heller, Jake Heller, Nichole Calibraro, Douglas Blaha Jr., Eliza Blaha, and Brayden Blaha. She also took great joy in being a great-grandmother to Aleah, Aria, Catalina, Aneicia, Morah, and Levi.

Gloria was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Corinne Calibraro, and her parents, John and Marie Sherman. She is survived by her sisters, Arlene Lundeen of Worth, Illinois; Carol Lode of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; and Donna Ferris of California.

Outside of her professional life, Gloria enjoyed time spent with family, traveling, and was a former member of the Nomads Ski Club. She also loved playing cards and board games, bringing people together in fun and laughter.

As a resident formerly of Orland Park and most recently of Peace Village in Palos Park, Gloria touched the lives of many with her accommodating personality and generous spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, Gloria was cremated. A private memorial gathering is being held Saturday, February 21, 2026. Invited guests are requested to RSVP.
