John T. Stachelski

John T. Stachelski, age 63, lifelong resident of Burnham, Illinois, passed away on December 16, 2025.  Cherished son of the late Florence and John; beloved brother of Denise (Bob Cundiff), Mike, Steve and Dave (Angie) Stachelski; loving uncle of Bobby (Erica) and Mark Cundiff, Julie Machnikowski (Lenny), Payton and Jake Stachelski, Beckham and Kendall Cundiff, great uncle of the late Bryson Machnikowski; fond nephew and cousin to many. John graduated from Thornton Fractional North High School and went on to have a long and successful career with Clean Harbor/Safety Clean. He enjoyed fishing and watching Chicago sports. A familiar face at the racetrack, John always loved the excitement and comradery of horseracing. 

Family and friends may visit with the family for a Memorial service on January 16th from 12-2 pm with a service at 1:30 at Opyt’s Funeral Home 13350 South Baltimore Avenue Chicago, Illinois  . Prayer Service to immediately follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 801 Michigan City Road, Calumet City. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in John’s memory to your favorite charity.
