Judith A. Cook, a dedicated case manager and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Orland Park, Illinois, after a courageous four-year battle with illness. Born on November 7, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Judith illuminated the lives of everyone she encountered through her unwavering commitment to her work and her deep love for her family.
With an innate desire to help others, Judith spent over twenty years as a case manager for the State of Indiana at the Department of Welfare. Her compassion and dedication made a lasting impact on countless lives. Judith's educational journey took her to Wayne State University, where she earned a master’s degree in psychology, equipping her with the skills and knowledge that fueled her career and allowed her to make a meaningful difference in her community.
Beyond her professional life, Judith was a woman of many interests. She found joy in gardening, nurturing beautiful blooms that mirrored her generous spirit. Sewing became another cherished pastime, where she crafted not only beautiful garments but also lasting memories woven into the fabric of her family's lives. Judith also delighted in exploration, often visiting resale shops and rummage sales, where she discovered treasures and stories within each unique find.
Judith's family was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. She is survived by her beloved children—Lisa Morrow, Russell (Catherine) Morrow, and Donna (Paul) Caroselli—who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her grandchildren—Alexis Little, Audry, Margo Galal, Kevin, Alexandra Morrow, and Andrew Caroselli—held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the moments spent with them, knowing that she had instilled in them the same values that defined her own life. To complete her legacy, Judith is honored by the presence of five great-grandchildren, who will surely remember her warmth and guidance.
Judith also joins her brothers, William and Thomas, who predeceased her, reminding us that family ties extend beyond this earthly life.
As we reflect on Judith A. Cook's extraordinary journey, may we all strive to emulate her compassion, creativity, and unwavering love for those around her. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts, a guiding light to remind us of the beauty of a well-lived life. Services honoring Judith will be held at Midwest Mortuary Service in Tinley Park, Illinois. She will continue to inspire us even as she takes her eternal rest.
