Larry Randle, 87, of Homer Glen, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his home on June 6, 2026 surrounded by family. A man of boundless talent and a loving father. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Sandra (nee Lynch); his children Brian (Mary Beth), Chris (Robyn), and Aimee Campbell (Scott); his grandchildren Sarah Randle (Phil Lindgren), Randy Campbell, Allasen Campbell (Cody Looman), Julia Randle, and Nate Randle (Kaitlyn Steinhauser); and three great-grandchildren. Born and raised in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood of Chicago to George and Lillian (nee Duffus), he is reunited in heaven by his four brothers, George, Bill, Jim and John. He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews that were more of an extension of his immediate family.

Larry was the kind of man who could fix anything, build anything, and improve anything he set his hands to. A true jack of all trades, he was equally at home beneath the hood of an engine as he was behind a welder’s mask or at a woodworking bench. His garage and workshop were places of quiet mastery, where patience and skill turned problems into solutions and raw materials into something worth keeping. Those who knew him knew that if Larry couldn’t fix it, it probably wasn’t worth fixing.

Larry had a deep and genuine love for animals of all kinds. Dogs held a special place in his heart, loyal companions that matched his own steady and devoted nature. But perhaps most endearingly, he had a particular soft spot for squirrels—those scrappy, resourceful little creatures that seemed to reflect something of his own spirit.

For all his many talents, Larry’s greatest joy was found not in his workshop, but in the faces of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them — the noise, the laughter, the chaos — and they adored him in return. He was the kind of grandfather whose presence made every gathering feel complete.

Yet what made Larry special was not simply what he could do, but how freely he shared those gifts with others. His children knew they could always call him with one more question about a car, a home repair, or a project that seemed impossible. Neighbors, friends, and family members often found themselves on the receiving end of his knowledge, advice, and helping hands. Larry never hesitated to lend his time or his expertise to someone in need.

Larry was a devout Catholic whose faith was not simply practiced on Sundays, but lived quietly and steadily every day of his life. His belief grounded him, guided him, and gave him a peace that those around him could always feel.

Rest in peace, Larry. Well done, good and faithful servant.
