Miriam Louise Bolton

Miriam Louise Bolton of Joliet, IL. passed away December 20, 2025 at home. She was born June 1, 1963 in Concord, NH, the daughter of Pastor Ellsworth and Kathryn (Crosby) Crockett.

Miriam was raised in Ira, VT and went to Pensacola Christian College (Secondary Education Major) where she met her husband of 39 years, Bert Bolton. She taught Math and other subjects at Oak Forest Christian Academy and other Christian Schools, before, after and sometimes in the midst of raising three boys. She was a life long learner and teacher, earning her Masters Degree from Maranatha Baptist University in her 50’s. Her passions were her family, teaching math, piano, travel, reading, sewing and various other creative things. She worked for Louvers Lane Blind and Drapery Cleaning, the family business, both in the office and at Silver Cross Hospital. She loved helping people.

She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Frankfort for many years where she taught part time in the Christian School. More recently, she was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Lockport where she was involved in the choir, music and other ministries. Today, Miriam is home with her Savior, cancer free, due to her sweet personal relationship that began as a young person when she trusted in Jesus Christ as her Savior.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Bolton III, children Jonathan (Amanda) Bolton, Joshua Bolton, Joel Bolton; siblings Shawn Deripentigny, Lois (Peter) Rall and Wayne (Mary) Crockett, grandsons Jaxton and Kaison Bolton as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ellsworth and Kathryn Crockett, sister Paula Sexton and three stillborn babies, Rose, Samuel and Benjamin.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Lockport, IL on Saturday, January 10th at 2 p.m. with family greeting friends from 1-2 p.m. Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Ira, VT will take place on May 30th after a service at the Ira Baptist Church.

In leu of flowers, the family requests any Memorial contributions be made to the Seigu Medical Clinic, Papua New Guinea (https://give.abwe.org/projects/seigu-medical-clinic.png ) whose baby ministry was especially dear to Miriam’s heart.
