Penny Granat

Penny Granat, 66, of Oak Forest, US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5^th, 2020. Former wife of the late Michael Granat; Loving mother of James (Tracy) Granat, Jackie Granat, Cynthia Granat, Michelle Granat and Michael Granat; Cherished grandmother of 19; Fond sister of Nancy (Frank) Stephens, Stanley Swierczek, Art Swierczek, and the late Darlene Swierczek; Devoted daughter of the late Stanley and Lucille Swierczek. Penny was a long-time member and former volunteer at the Union Avenue United Methodist Church in Chicago. You could often find her tending to her garden. She enjoyed working  puzzles and word search games, and loved her pets, most lately her bird! Due to Covid restrictions, private cremation rites will be accorded. A public service and interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to the Union Avenue United Methodist Church, 4350 S. Union Ave., Chicago, 60609 would be appreciated.
