Robert Michael Cameo, known fondly as Bob, departed this life peacefully at home in Tinley Park, Illinois, on September 13, 2024, at the age of 93. Bob was born on November 27, 1930, and was a proud native of Chicago's Roseland neighborhood, where he established roots that would define a life rich in hard work, faith, and family.
Bob's professional journey took him through various successful careers, where he demonstrated remarkable dedication and skill. He contributed his talents to notable companies including Burnside Steel and Royal Crown (RC) Cola before ultimately shining as an entrepreneur with his own vendorship at Butternut Bakery. His industrious nature was only rivaled by his playful spirit, which endeared him to all who met him.
An education from Tilden Technical High School set the groundwork for Bob's future endeavors, but his true legacy lies in the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who loved him. A man of deep faith, he was an active member of Saint George Catholic Church in Tinley Park, finding solace in his community and providing unwavering support to friends and family alike.
Bob's personality was characterized by his extremely active and social demeanor. He was gentle, hardworking, caring, and deeply loving—a combination that made him a guiding light to those fortunate enough to know him. His beloved wife, Bernadine Ann (Kuizinas) cherishes the memories they created together, currently residing in Schererville, Indiana, where his spirit continues to be felt.
He leaves behind a devoted brother, Gene Cameo of Elmhurst, Illinois, a caring sister Rosemary (Michael) Paoletti of Munster, Indiana and beloved brother-in-law Irvin (Bud) Hansen of Tinley Park, Illinois. Sisters in law, Georgiana Easton (Kuizinas) of Lansing, Illinois, Mary Sasuta (Paul) Liakos of Dyer, Indiana. and Brother in law Daniel Sasuta of Chicago, Illinois,
His special Goddaughter and niece, Michelle (Shelly) Hansen-Rossi along with his caring nephew Sam Rossi of Cedar Lake, Indiana, were invaluable sources of comfort and care, providing unwavering support throughout his life and in his final days carrying out his wishes HIS way.

Bob rejoices in the memories shared with cherished friends. Despite his passing, those bonds linger on, echoing the joy he brought to others.
He was predeceased by his beloved sons, Michael and Brian, as well as his cherished siblings, Donald, Rudy, Michael, and sister Joyce Hansen. Their absence has forged a space in his heart, which he carried with grace until the end.
A service celebrating Bob's remarkable life will take place at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois, on October 3, 2024. The public will gather at 9:45 a.m. Services to begin promptly at 10:00 AM. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly extraordinary man who lived with purpose, love, and unwavering faith till his final days. Bob Cameo's legacy is one of love, strength, and devotion, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to share in his journey.
